HAKIZIMANA APPOLINAIRE

Director of Scripture Union Rwanda and A Reverend Archdeacon in the Diocese of Karongi, Anglican Church

In 2014, Rev. Appolinaire ventured to the United States to pursue his Doctorate in Ministry at the American Baptist Seminary of the West. During his academic tenure, he also fulfilled the role of a Chaplain at the University of California San Francisco.

His passion for helping others and his experiences in caring for numerous orphaned children following the genocide against the Tutsis of 1994 in Rwanda have deeply influenced his vision. During his time as a chaplain, he received a profound vision to establish a community center in East Africa. Witnessing the physical, mental, and spiritual anguish endured by individuals in hospitals, he aspired to ensure that no one would suffer alone. Through the East Africa Community Healing Center project, he aims to cultivate a supportive environment where people can heal and learn to aid one another during times of suffering.
